The label on the center square of the block diagram should say [a] and not [d]. The cutting is correct and so are the verbal directions.
Also for clarity, “grouping #2” refers to the CROSS portion of the cutting and those pieces need to be joined together for the balance of what you need if you are using several precuts for your cutting.
